Maureen T. Gomes passed away peacefully on April 10, 2025. She was the daughter of the late John J. Kelly and Teresa (Murtagh) Kelly. She was the devoted wife of John F. Gomes who passed away in 2020. Maureen was a Teachers Aide for special needs children for the city of Pawtucket for 25 years and was beloved by her students and co-workers alike. She enjoyed vacations in New Hampshire with her family, gardening, reading, crossword puzzles and hosting family and holiday gatherings, but mostly she enjoyed caring for her family who she adored. She is survived by her children, John Tweedly and his wife Lorna of Warwick, Russell Tweedly and his wife Karen of Pawtucket, Gary Tweedly of Central Falls, Mary Sherratt and her husband Kyle of Swansea and Colleen Fonseca and her husband Steve of Pawtucket and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Tony Favata of Coventry. Maureen was predeceased by her brother John Kelly and his wife Sally, sisters Dolores Kelly and Bernadette Favata. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to calling hours of 4:00-7:00 pm on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Higginson Ave., Lincoln, RI. There will be a mass of christian burial at St. John Paul II Parish , 755 Central Ave., Pawtucket, RI on Wednesday April 16, 2025 at 11:00 am followed by the burial at Notre Dame Cemetary, 359 Daggett Ave., Pawtucket, RI. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Jeanne Jugan Residence in Pawtucket, RI.
